Apple Keyboard and Apple Extended Keyboard
Two keyboards--the Apple Keyboard and Apple Extended Keyboard--work with
the Macintosh SE and Macintosh II.
The Apple Keyboard is a standard keyboard solution that combines a numeric
keypad, cursor keys, and Macintosh-style keycaps. It has a layout and
functionality identical to the Apple IIGS keyboard.
The Apple Extended Keyboard provides an alternative solution for users who
want to use applications that run alternate operating systems and
applications, and terminal emulation software. It features a T-style cursor
keypad, function keys, as well as a larger footprint design.
Together with third-party MS-DOS-compatible co-processor cards, both
keyboards enable Macintosh II and Macintosh SE users to run both Apple and
IBM-specific applications.
The Apple Keyboard and Apple Extended Keyboard come with a platinum finish
and incorporate the new Macintosh design. Both keyboards support the Apple
Desktop Bus interface.
These products are not included with Macintosh II and Macintosh SE CPUs and
must be purchased separately. The Apple Keyboard is available in March;
and the Apple Extended Keyboard will be available in April, 1987.
